The story of the only remaing side-by-side Vintage two seater  in NZ

With contributions of Robert Smits, Ian Dunkley, Kevin Wisnewski & Others...

The story of ZK-GBB "Bumble Bee" comes alive again in 2009. Carefully restored at Norfolk Road Aviation Sports Club in Taranaki by Gevon Snowdon and Kevin Wisnewski. The glider has been gifted to VK by Sandy from Rotorua, and was almost completely written off after the one piece wing blew off the trailer on the way from Rotorua to Inglewood! Before that the glider has been in storage for many years after a Cessna was thrown on top of it in high winds, destrying tailplane and rear fuselage.

More to follow as we're gathering information. For now here are some pictures taken after almost 300 hours of work at the Norfolk Road club. Only jobs remaining now is total recovering with seconite and a paintjob...

This is how she arrived at Norfolk Road, pictures taken only a few months prior...
